Part1

Cassie walked with an air of calm about her, far be it from what she was actually feeling. Azazael Leader of the Nephelim had requested she visit him. Despite her best friend Thelma's warnings she felt drawn to see him again. She hated him for what he had done to her, for what he had put her through, yet she loved him more than anything on Earth. Often she had put her friends' lives on the line to see him again. She risked everything, even her own life and certainly her state of mind... All because he had caught her interest, captured her imagination, disturbed her thoughts, body and soul. Maybe it was so called destiny.
She shivered against the green shrug she was wearing and pulled it around her as far as it would go. Was it colder than she had at first thought or was it that creeping sense of dread she felt whenever she was invited over by her fallen angel.
"If only it were simple" she mused "You hear all the time of guardian angels, why did mine have to be the fallen one?"

Azazael waited quietly in the shadows of the old church he almost supposed to be his home. He had no home as such, no place of rest. He was destined to wander, as he had for many hundreds of years. His only wish through those centuries had been to find Cassie. The perfect fit, the perfect circle. Two souls as one. Mother to his child, lover to him.
Ah, yes... Cassie. He truly loved her despite all she thought of him. He knew her inside and out. He knew what she wanted, even though she pretended not to want it. He knew her heart better than she herself did.
There had been many women, many of the same line. He had shown them all they could ever want to be shown, given them gifts no other could, In the face of God his actions were deemed wrong. He had taught them witchcraft it was supposed, but he felt he had only shown each of them what they already had, what they already knew. He loved them all, protected them as much as he could, taken them, shown them the truth and cried for them when no one else did. Woman never changed, for as surely as Adam ate the apple, it was Eve who had tempted him to it.
It was woman that had been the cause of his undoing.
"Ah" he thought "But Cassie is different, she knows what she has, she knows what she feels and she is strong enough to withstand it"
He hoped that he, for once, was right. But Woman was so fragile. He did not mean to be their undoing.
He felt her before she even entered the room, as she did so he quietly took a cigarette.
